Ryan Taliaferro lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is director of investment strategies and a member of the executive committee at Acadian Asset Management, an institutional investment manager.
Prior to joining Acadian, he was a faculty member in the Finance Unit at Harvard Business School, where he taught corporate finance and asset pricing to MBA students. His research in financial economics has been published in peer-reviewed journals, where he continues to serve as a referee. His earlier employment was at Goldman Sachs and the Boston Consulting Group.
He currently serves on the advisory board of the Human Flourishing Program at Harvard University, on the investment committee of the Trustees of Donations to the Protestant Episcopal Church (Massachusetts), on the vestry as treasurer at the Church of the Advent (Boston), and as a trustee of the New England Historic Genealogical Society, among other board affiliations of not-for-profit organizations. He previously served on the board of directors of Midland University (Nebraska) from 2012-2020. He holds four degrees from Harvard University, where he was a National Scholar: a bachelors in physics, a masters in physics, a masters in economics, and a doctorate (PhD) in business economics. He also holds an MBA in finance and economics from the University of Chicago, where he was a First National Scholar.
Dr Taliaferro has been a member of the Board of Governors since 2023.
