During its first academic year, Ralston College was delighted to welcome Dr Stanley Fish among the more than 30 scholars who visited Savannah for public lectures.
We were grateful to learn today that Dr Fish was as inspired as we were by his visit last February–so described in a conversation he recently had with Len Gutkin at The Chronicle of Higher Education.
Before an audience that included students, local Savannah residents and out-of-state guests, Dr Fish considered Why Neither Free Speech nor Hate Speech is a Thing.
At one of the College’s weekly formal dinners that followed, Dr Fish offered further reflections, speaking one-on-one with many Ralston College students.
As he shared in The Chronicle of Higher Education article, while in Savannah, Dr Fish also attended a lecture about Homer’s Iliad, led by Dr Joseph Conlon, Director of Ralston College’s Greek Program.
Ralston College will soon begin admitting students for the 2024–25 academic year. They will make up the College’s third consecutive cohort to be admitted to the degree of Master of Arts in the Humanities.
Thank you, Dr Fish. We are honored by your long-standing support of Ralston College’s mission to revive and reinvent higher education.
